Joomla vs. Drupal vs. Wordpress

Joomla vs. Drupal vs. Wordpress

When creating internet project, we always ask ourself "What CMS to choose?". There is a great number of CMSs which are simple and complicated, paid and free ones.
Today I would like to tell you about the most popular free Content Management Systems - Joomla, WordPress and Drupal.

Drupal

Some people believe that this CMS is suitable for skilled web masters who have work expirience in PHP programming. And they are right. If a website is a standard one and contains mainly articles - Drupal is exactly what you need.
But, I would choose the following alternative...

Joomla

Joomla is very popular Content Management System. It is versatile enough due to a huge number of additional components. Initially, Joomla was created for news portals, but with sub-components it can be:
- online store;
- photo gallery;
- blog;
- directory;
- basis of social network ... etc.

Joomla Project is actively developing. The developers release updated versions of the system almost every half of the year.

WordPress

WordPress is a great blogging engine. However, using additional plugins it can become an online magazine, catalog or an online store. But the main purpose of WordPress is creation and administration of the blog. In this case, it has no equal! Wordpress is updated constantly; it has a lot of free templates (themes) and plugins which are rather simple to install and manage.

So which of these systems is the best one - Wordpress, Joomla or Drupal?
I would rephrase this question: "which is better - red fish, milk or cucumber?"

The answer is simple - it depends on your purposes. For beginners I would advise start learning and creating a website with Joomla CMS, because it is the most universal. If you just want to have a blog and gain a popularity of the internet journalist, then choose Wordpress immediately. With the lapse of time you may begin to learn PHP. After that, you can easily use Drupal for your web project.

How to choose?
